Even Judas Healed People

As I spend time with the Father this morning and consider the powerful healing we’ve seen at our center already, I’m mindful of our responsibility to pursue holiness and love as people publicly proclaiming our faith. In my journey I’ve encountered people walking in anointing for healing, prophecy, teaching and evangelism. I’m talking about significant anointing! Yet as impressive as their gifts seem their character was lacking. I don’t mean moral failing, I mean somewhere along the way they lost sight of Love and began to believe in their own superiority to others. This of course results in self righteousness, pride and contempt for others. How this must grieve the heart of God.

We are not just a healing center but also an equipping center. When I train teams to pray for healing I teach them to first consider if they are loving the person in front of them. This posture keeps you humble as you see miracles happen in response to your prayer. It reinforces God’s part in the activation of healing and reminds us that we’ve been invited to so love the world alongside God. As I was considering these things, praying for love and anointing to increase God impressed me that of the two things it will be our love that brings the greatest healing. Healing is meant to be the tangible expression of his love not a badge of our superiority.

God wrote these words on my heart for my sake and perhaps for yours: Anointing is no guarantee of Character – even Judas healed people. You must walk in both love and the anointing.
